Start a battle on one device
- Open Same device. Player 1 presses I’m ready while Player 2 looks away.
- Arrange the first fleet. Start with an empty Your fleet grid. Tap to place each selected ship, drag to move it and use the orientation button to rotate. Auto-place fills the grid for you. Press Ready after placing all five ships.
- Pass the hidden screen. Player 2 arranges a different fleet in private, then passes back to Player 1.
- Take one shot. Tap an unexplored square in Target waters. Read the result on the handoff screen, then pass the device.
Five ships, one shot at a time
Each 10 × 10 grid holds a Carrier of five squares, a Battleship of four, a Cruiser and a Submarine of three each, and a Destroyer of two. Ships lie horizontally or vertically, stay within the grid and cannot overlap. They may touch.
Player 1 fires first. A coral cross marks a hit and a pale dot marks a miss. Players alternate after every shot, including a hit. A completely hit ship is revealed as sunk. Find all seventeen occupied squares to win. Read the full rules and controls.
Keep the surprise intact
The game removes the board while you hand over the device. The next player presses I’m ready before seeing their own view. Look away during your friend’s setup and moves: this mode relies on taking turns privately.
Target and Your fleet are visible together during your turn. Fire on Target and watch incoming shots on Your fleet. With a keyboard, focus the board, choose a square with arrow keys and press Enter or Space.
For separate screens, try a private online invitation.
Save a rivalry for later
Same device and Vs Computer keep separate games in this browser. Switching modes restores the corresponding battle. Returning to a shared game opens the privacy screen again.
New round asks before replacing a locked, unfinished local battle. There is no clock or cumulative match score. You can also explore the online modes.
