How to play Dominoes with 2 players
- Open a shared table. Play 2 Player Dominoes starts Same device mode or restores its saved round.
- Give the device to the active player. Their hand stays covered until they choose Reveal my hand.
- Play the highlighted opening tile. The highest double in either hand starts; if there are no doubles, the highest-total tile starts.
- Pass the screen after a turn. The next player should reveal their own tiles once the device is in their hands.
The game deals seven tiles to each player and puts the remaining 14 in the boneyard. Follow the active-player indicator so you do not reveal the other hand by mistake.
Keep your Dominoes hand private
A hidden hand is part of the game. On a shared phone or tablet, pass the device before revealing the next hand. On a computer, take turns facing the screen while the other person looks away. The hand also hides when you leave the app in local mode.
For two separate screens, follow Play Dominoes with a friend. Each person receives only their own hand during a private online round. The chain, open ends and opponent’s tile count stay visible to both players.

The rules for this two-player table
This is double-six Draw Dominoes. Match a number on one of your tiles to either open end of the chain. A blank matches a blank. A double sits across the chain but does not create extra branches.
If you cannot play, draw one tile at a time until you have a match. When the boneyard is empty and no tile fits, pass. You must use a legal move when one is available.
The first player to empty their hand wins the pips left in the other hand. If both players pass in succession, the lower pip total wins the difference; equal totals are a draw. The complete Dominoes rules explain the opening and scoring.
Read the table together
Before playing a tile, check which numbers will remain in your hand and which ends you will leave open. Getting rid of a high-pip tile can help, but keeping several possible replies is useful too.
After the round, compare a turn where one of you had to draw. It is a simple way to learn how an open end changes the choices. You can also practise Dominoes against the computer before your next shared game.

Can 2 people play Dominoes on the same phone?
Yes. Use Same device mode, pass the phone after each turn and select Reveal my hand only when it is your turn.
How many dominoes does each player get?
Each player starts with seven tiles from a 28-tile double-six set. The remaining 14 tiles form the boneyard.
Do doubles let us branch the chain?
No. This Draw Dominoes table always has two open ends. Doubles do not create a spinner or extra branches.
Can we use two different devices?
Yes. Create a private friend invitation. Each player then uses their own browser and sees their own hand.
Does the game keep a running match score?
This version scores each round separately. It does not keep an accumulated match score or use All Fives scoring.
