Start a shared board
- Open Same device. A new board or your saved local game appears.
- Choose sides. Player 1 is Red and moves first; Player 2 is Black.
- Select a piece, then a highlighted intersection.
- The highlighted player card marks the next player. Game menu → Flip board changes the view.
A small guide to the seven pieces
The discs carry Chinese characters and small Latin labels: G general, A advisor, E elephant, H horse, R chariot, C cannon and S soldier. Hover or focus a point to read the piece name.
The river changes soldier movement and limits elephants. The crossed lines mark each palace. Read the full Xiangqi rules before your first battle.
Look for the cannon’s screen
A cannon captures only when exactly one other piece stands between it and its target. Either army can provide that screen. Before moving a blocker, look along the entire file: you may expose your general or remove a cannon attack.
Take the game to two screens
Create a private invitation for a new game on separate devices, or practise against the computer. Each mode keeps its own board. The browser guide compares the options.

Xiangqi 2 Player FAQ
Can two people play on one phone?
Yes. Take turns selecting pieces and destinations on the shared screen.
Does the board rotate after every move?
No. Use Flip board in Game menu when you want to change the view.
Can we play with a keyboard?
Use Tab to focus a point and Enter or Space to select the piece and its destination.
Does New round erase the current local game?
After confirmation, it replaces the local position. Your computer game has its own save.
