Start your Pool game
Open the table on one device. Player 1 breaks; take turns using the same mouse or touchscreen. The highlighted profile shows who has control, while the small numbered balls show each group still on the table.
There are no hidden hands to cover. Keep watching while your friend shoots, then choose a new angle when the visit ends. If you have separate devices, use a private invitation instead.
Aim, set power and shoot
Move the mouse over the cloth to aim and click to shoot. On touchscreens, drag to aim and release to shoot. The dashed line and ghost ball show the first contact; a red guide warns about the wrong first ball. The vertical power meter to the right of the table rises and falls automatically: your shot uses its strength at the moment you press. Left and right arrow keys rotate the cue; Space or Enter shoots.
With ball in hand, tap clear cloth to place the white ball, then press Confirm before aiming. The table turns vertically on narrow screens. Your player cards stay above the table, and the highlighted card identifies the active player.
Our casual 8-ball rules
This is casual eight-ball Pool on a table with six pockets. The white cue ball strikes fifteen numbered balls: solids 1–7, the black 8 and stripes 9–15. Player 1 breaks first. Clear your seven balls, then pocket the 8 on a later legal shot to win.
The table stays open after the break. The first legally pocketed solid or stripe after the break assigns your group; when both groups fall on that shot, the first ball pocketed decides. A legal pocket of your own ball keeps your visit going. Other pocketed balls stay down, including on a foul.
Hit your group first, or the 8 only if your group was already clear before the shot. On an open table, hit a solid or stripe first. After contact, pocket an object ball or send any ball to a cushion. A scratch, no contact, wrong first contact or no cushion or pocket is a foul. Your opponent may place the cue ball anywhere on clear cloth.
Pocketing the 8 early, together with your final group ball, or on a foul loses the rack. The break must pocket an object ball or send four distinct object balls to cushions. An 8 on the break is respotted; a foul break gives ball in hand anywhere.
These are house rules: no called pockets, spin, jumps, shot clock, tournament scoring or choice to re-rack an illegal break.
Make the next shot easier
Start with a clear ball near a pocket. Gentle power often keeps the cue ball closer to a useful next position. Before shooting, look for a path for both the object ball and the white ball: an easy pot can still end in a scratch.
Choose a computer opponent
You break first against the computer. Easy adds aiming and power errors. Medium tests up to 11 candidate shots using the same physics. Hard tests up to 75 candidates, including different powers. The opponent considers direct pots and avoids simulated fouls, but it is not a tournament-level player and does not plan a whole rack.
Click Vs computer in the common menu to choose Easy, Medium or Hard. The default is Medium unless another level was saved. Changing difficulty preserves the rack; cancelling the chooser changes nothing.
Resume your table or start a new rack
Same device and computer racks save separately in this browser after the balls stop. Returning to the same mode restores its rack. Reloading during an unfinished local shot returns to the last settled position. Clearing site data removes these local saves.
Online shots are calculated and saved by the server before both browsers animate them. Use the same invitation and browser to resume your seat. Both players must be connected to shoot. A second tab with the same seat replaces the old connection; clearing site data loses that seat. Inactive rooms expire after seven days.
After a guest joins, both players must request New round. Before that, the creator can restart alone. A shot cancels pending rematch votes. Groups are chosen again; the previous loser breaks next, or the player opposite the last active player if an unfinished rack was reset.

Pool 2 Player FAQ
Is Pool free here?
Yes. All three modes are free and work in your browser without an account.
Do I win if the 8 goes in on the break?
No. The 8 is respotted and the table stays open. A scratch on the same break gives the opponent ball in hand.
When do solids and stripes get assigned?
After the break, the first legally pocketed group ball assigns the groups. A foul does not assign them.
Do I need to call a pocket?
No. This casual version does not use called pockets. Clear your group before taking your winning shot on the 8.
Can I play with someone on another device?
Yes. Create a private invitation and share it with a friend. Both browsers need to stay connected.
