Familiar pieces, Russian rules
This board uses Russian draughts: 8×8 squares, twelve pieces per player, and White moves first. Men move one square diagonally forward and capture both forward and backward. Kings travel along clear diagonals.
Captures are compulsory. Continue a capture until there are no more jumps on that route. If several complete routes are available, you can choose any of them; taking the largest number is not required. A man reaching the far edge becomes a king immediately, even during a series.
A highlighted capture destination completes the whole series. If two routes reach the same square, choose the captured pieces from the dialog. Read the full rules and examples before your first round.
A good game to talk through
Look for forced jumps before planning a quiet move. An offered piece can pull an opponent away from the back row, but check whether the reply leads to another capture. Keeping pieces together makes isolated men harder to pick off.
Open Game menu → Moves to review or copy your move history. A new round replaces the current round, so copy anything you want to keep first.
Two devices, the same board
For a friend across town, open Checkers with a Friend and share a private invitation. Each person controls their own side. The online guide compares all three ways to play, including solo practice.

Checkers 2 Player FAQ
Do we need two devices?
No. Same device lets both players take turns on one screen.
Are these English or Russian checkers?
Russian checkers. Men can capture backward, kings can travel along diagonals, and White starts.
Can I skip a capture?
No. If a capture is available, you must take a complete capture route.
Does the local round save?
Yes, in this browser. Local and computer games have separate saves; clearing site storage removes them.
