Choose your Mancala game
Same device opens a shared board for two people. Play with a friend creates a private invitation for someone on another device. Vs computer opens a choice of Easy, Medium or Hard before starting a solo round.
The main play button opens the local board; use the menu to choose another mode. There is no public matchmaking or random opponent search. The private room is for the person who receives your link.
The last stone matters
Take every stone from one of your nonempty pits. Sow one stone into each following pit, including your own store but skipping your opponent’s store. Finish in your store for an extra move. Finish in an empty pit on your side, opposite a nonempty pit, to capture those stones and your landing stone.
When either row is empty, the remaining row is swept into its owner’s store. Compare the totals to find the winner. The complete rules explain the board direction and a 24–24 draw.
A little space for a good game
The carved board fills the available play area and turns vertically in tall windows. Player cards and the result remain above it. Your playable pits have a colored outline; the active card marks the player making a decision.
Click or tap a pit, or use Tab and Enter or Space. Arrow keys move keyboard focus. Wait for the sowing animation to finish before choosing the next pit. How to play in the top menu opens the rules without leaving the game.
Continue a round later
Local and computer rounds save separately when browser storage is available. Clearing site data removes those saves. Online, return using the same browser and invitation link to recover your seat. Both players need a connection to continue.

Is Mancala free to play here?
Yes. Open the board in your browser without an account or an app download.
Can I play a random opponent?
No. Online multiplayer uses a private invitation. You can also play on one device or against the computer.
Which version of Mancala is this?
Kalah with six pits per player and four stones in each small pit. Your own store receives stones during sowing; the opponent’s store is skipped. This version does not use relay sowing or a swap rule.
When do I capture stones?
When your last stone lands in an empty pit on your own side and the opposite pit contains stones. Both the landing stone and the opposite stones go to your store. An empty opposite pit means no capture.
How does the game end?
When either row of six pits becomes empty, the other player moves their remaining stones into their own store. The larger total wins; 24 stones each is a draw.
