  3. Drop the first disc. Gold starts. Choose one of the seven columns to fill its lowest empty space.

Three ways to enjoy the same rules

Four in a Row 2 Player is for friends sitting together. Both colors are controlled on one screen, with a separate local save.

Vs Computer is for one player. You are Gold and choose Easy, Medium or Hard through the Vs computer menu.

Play with a Friend creates a private room for two browsers. Send the invitation to a person you know; there is no random matchmaking.

One column, one falling disc

Click or tap a column to drop a disc. A column holds six; when it fills, choose another. On a computer, a pointer preview shows the landing space. Tab, left and right arrows, and Enter or Space provide keyboard control.

You win with an unbroken line of at least four discs of your color horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Filling all 42 spaces without a winner produces a draw. Find examples and tips in the rules guide.

Come back to your next move

Local and computer boards save independently in this browser when storage is available. Switching between those modes restores the appropriate game. New round keeps your mode and chosen computer difficulty.

An online room keeps its confirmed moves on the server. Use the same browser and invitation to recover your seat. Both players must be connected before another disc can be dropped. Inactive rooms expire after seven days.
