Open the board and choose your company
The main button opens Same device mode. Use the shared menu to switch to Play with a friend or Vs computer. The local board loads immediately without creating an online room.
- Choose a mode. Share a screen, create a private invitation, or pick a computer difficulty.
- Roll the opening dice. The higher number decides the first player.
- Select your checker. Follow the marked destinations and use all playable numbers.
- Race home. Gather your checkers in your six-point home and remove all fifteen.
Which backgammon mode fits this round?
Backgammon 2 Player is for two people sharing a phone, tablet or computer. Both sides take turns on one screen and the game saves locally.
Play with a Friend creates a private room for two separate devices. The host keeps White and the guest takes Black. Both must stay connected; the server rolls the dice and checks each move.
Vs Computer is a solo board. You play White and choose Easy, Medium or Hard in the shared menu. Online describes the browser game; it does not mean random matchmaking.
Understand the points, the bar and the tray
A point containing two or more opposing checkers is closed. One opposing checker is a blot: landing on it sends it to the central bar. Before moving anywhere else, a player with a barred checker must bring it back into the opponent’s home.
The highlighted sources and destinations follow the full turn requirements. You cannot waste a die by choosing an earlier move that prevents a compulsory continuation. Use the side tray only when all your checkers are home. The rules guide explains the exceptions for oversized bearing-off rolls.
Come back to your game
Local and computer games use separate browser saves. Switching between these modes restores their respective positions, remaining dice and turn. Clearing site storage removes local saves.
Private online games restore from the server when you reopen the invitation in the browser where you joined. The saved seat identifies you without an account. Either player may propose New round; after a guest has joined, both players must agree. There is no running match score or doubling cube in this casual single-game version.

Yes. All three modes are free and require no account.
Will the main button find a random opponent?
No. It opens the shared-device board. Use Play with a friend to invite a specific person, or Vs computer to play alone.
Can I play on a touchscreen?
Yes. Tap a checker to select it, then tap a marked destination. The board supports both mouse and touch input.
Are the dice controlled by the server?
In a private online room, yes. The client asks to roll and receives the server’s saved result. Local and computer games roll in your browser.
Does the game include long nardy?
No. This board uses short-backgammon rules, including the classic mixed starting layout, hits and re-entry from the bar.
